Fasting, Imagination and Dreams

“All the things one has forgotten scream for help in dreams.” ~Elias Canetti

Protein Fasting

I am starting to protein fast again today.  It was very effective during the 3 days that I protein fasted 2 weeks ago and I thought I would go for a longer period of time and see how I do.  Please understand that I am not recommending that anyone start or go on a fast; this is a huge and challenging commitment and without training and support – likely to be a very unpleasant experience.  If you have training and support and a trained medical specialist to work with well – then consider fasting.  The health benefits are huge – the psychological challenges are great to overcome, and you will lose weight faster than any other diet.

So, I am going to protein fast for 8 days this time.  I will consume only water, protein powder free of carbohydrates and fats, and one essential oil capsule per day.  I am going to consume approximately one hundred and eighty five grams of protein each day and at least four liters of water each day.  Wish me luck!

A Come As You Will Be Party

My wife and I are having a small “come as you will be party” today.  It will be a hoot.  We are going to dress and act and talk just as we imagine that we will once we have already achieved our goals for the next five years.  I have never participated in this kind of event before and I’m excited.  The idea for this comes from chapter twelve of Jack Canfield’s book: The Success Principles.  I would put this one on your list of books worth the time to read.  I’ll talk more about this event and how it went soon.

There is Power to Change in Dreams

I decided to write down some more reasons to lose fat and get back into optimal health.  These are very personal reasons and they excite me.  When I think about doing them and achieving them, I feel motivated and motivation is a very good thing indeed while fasting!

Some more things I want to do:

  • I want to run with the bulls in Pamplona Spain.
  • I want to climb Kilimanjaro in Africa.
  • I want to learn to hang-glide.
  • I want to learn to parachute jump.
  • I want to compete in the Paris to Dakar race.

What do all of these have in common?  Well for me, I better be in much better shape to have a decent chance of surviving any of them! How about you?  What are your dreams and what do you need to change to make them happen?

Modern Day Flying Carpets

“I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.” ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

I love flying airplanes. One of my uncles took me flying in his private plane when I was 6 or 7 years old and I can still see the way the ground looked from up high, and this more than 40 years later. The entire experience was wonderful.

When I was 18, I considered joining the Air Force to get my wings, but I worn glasses, then as now, and I was told that I could not fly jets with glasses. This made me sad. My father had flown for the Army Air Corp in World War II and I had hoped to follow in his footsteps – it was not meant to be. I would need to wait awhile longer for my “magic carpet”. More >

Motivation … the Power of Why

“I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday.”  ~Author Unknown

I was thinking about motivation today. I was thinking about why I do the things that I do and what keeps me going; I was especially thinking about what keeps me going when things get tough. I do have many very useful beliefs about what things mean and these beliefs certainly help me, but there is quite a bit more going on than that. Many years ago I was introduced to the idea of keeping a dreams book. Basically this is book where you put pictures and ideas about the life you are going to build; pictures and ideas about the things that you want to create and the things that you want to experience. I have been keeping my dreams book now, stuffed full of pictures and ideas, for nearly 30 years and it has made a difference; it has made a big difference.

I will talk in detail about how to create a dreams book in another entry and I will also talk about why a dreams book works and how to use it. For tonight though, I was trying to think about what single image, what single picture that I could find, gave me the greatest motivation. And here it is: More >

Finally my Newsletter!

“I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” ~Henry David Thoreau

I am finally launching my newsletter and I am very excited about it! I needed to wait until I had a number of other pieces in place and now that they are, or will be within just a few more days, I can proceed. I can’t wait! I have been studying email newsletters for over a year now, part time of course, and having a newsletter is such a great tool for so many things. After I get mine launched, then I will start to go over in detail what I am doing with my newsletter and why you might want to do the same.

Within a day or so I will have a signup button on my blog for joining my email newsletter distribution list. If you are serious about making your dreams become your everyday reality, subscribe. You have my promise that I will help you to do that very thing. Question: “Haven’t Your Dreams Waited Long Enough?”
