From Wikipedia: “A New Year’s Resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year’s Day and remain until fulfilled or abandoned. More socio-centric examples include resolutions to donate to the poor more often, to become more assertive, or to become more economically or environmentally responsible.”

Happy New Year!  I hope this will be a great year for all of you – my readers.  I’m grateful for your patronage of my thoughts.  I am committed to giving you my best.

This entry is the start of a series dealing with my personal goals for 2009.  I will talk about how I arrived at these goals and how I intend to ensure that they happen.  Frankly, I don’t normally set New Year’s Resolutions; my planning is usually done for each year long before this time.  This year was different.  My six year old brought home a virus and all of us decided to test it against our immune systems.  Three weeks later and I am just now regaining the use of my voice.  Still, I am getting slowly better and this entry is the beginning of one of my resolutions.

My Resolution: I commit to myself and to my readers and my clients that I will post a blog entry Monday thru Friday for the next year. To be clear, every single Monday thru Friday, healthy or sick, holiday or otherwise, I will post a blog entry for all of 2009.

I wil make the why of this clear over the next few entries.  For now, Happy New Year!

“New Year’s Day:  Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions.  Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual”. ~Mark Twain
