I have been fortunate to learn from some of the brightest and the best in the business world. I have also been fortunate to screwup, in some cases massively, and survive to learn some great lessons. The information that I will be sharing with you is the distillation of my 23 years (as of August 2007) of experience in the business world and my 18 years of experience as an executive coach and business consultant.

The last time that I counted I had worked with more than 300 of the Fortune 500 companies in the United States; more than 2000 business executives and business owners and hundreds of small companies in a widely diverse range of industries. I don’t care if you are just starting your own company, working your way up the ladder in a company large or small, or running a Fortune 50 company, you must study and master these 8 skills or there will be a price to pay. (Likely you are already paying some of that price!) The price might be missed opportunities, wasted effort, bankruptcy, stress, loss of health, divorce, lost promotions with lost income or a host of other things. What I do know is that you are or will be paying a price, sometimes a very heavy price, for not becoming a master of these 8 skills.

Are there other skills that you need to master? Sure. But they are secondary, and will come much easier after you study these skills or as a byproduct of acquiring these other skills.
